More council contractor contempt from Bracknell Forest

Driving through Bracknell last Thursday, I came across this set of roadworks.  As is normal for council contractors no-one was doing anything, but then I noticed that no-one had done anything previously, other than cone off the road and cause problems for residents.

Yet another example of the contempt shown by the council to those who it is meant to serve and represent...

Don't park on double yellow lines... Unless you work for BFBC and it's lunchtime!

More 'one rule for you and another for us' from Bracknell Forest Council contractors.  Where are the Parking Enforcement morons who prowl the Bracknell streets when this is happening?  Not only is he illegally parking, but he's doing it right on top of a pedestrian crossing, demonstrating complete contempt for the public, and putting pedestrians in unnecessary danger.

Here's the video showing the contractor carrying his lunch back to the van (look for the yellow jacket).  Given the number plate isn't visible from the rear (another offence under the Road Traffic Act), there's a front view picture below with his number plate showing.

Do I expect the Police or the council to do anything?  Given they won't reply to emails that highlight these types of offences I've sent them previously, I wouldn't hold your breath...

Illegally parked, but why should he worry?  The law doesn't apply if you work for the council, right?

Bracknell Forest council - above the law again!

Here's a short clip of a contractor (Continental Landscapes Ltd) working for the council, clearing weeds from footpaths.

Trouble is, he's using a motor vehicle on the public highway (and on pavements as the clip shows), while it's unregistered, untaxed and therefore uninsured for use on the road.

One rule for them, another for us?  I've reported it to Thames Valley Police, and have informed them of the video.  Let's see if they do anything about it?!

And another one!  Also reported, but so far the police are reluctant to do anything...

Hi Lee

Thanks for your rather rudely composed note.

Could I suggest that in future, instead of making demands on your customers to use their registered email addresses, and arrogantly 'allowing' them to get payment details when you deem it fit ("on this occasion"), you just give them the ability to pay by publishing the bank details on your bills and the website, and save us all the hassle and time we have to spend to get you to do your job right in the first place?
